Instead, she\u2019s facing the exhausting realities of a Stage IV breast cancer diagnosis. Because her cancer was already so advanced when discovered in January 2025, surgery is not currently an option. She began intensive chemotherapy in February, along with weekly hormone treatments, and may still require radiation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"828\">A Fixed Income Meets an Unmovable Diagnosis<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"830\" data-end=\"1160\">Teresa lives alone and depends solely on Social Security and State Disability Insurance. Her diagnosis has made it impossible to work or fully support herself. Weekly chemotherapy requires gas, strength, and stamina \u2014 and the added burden of food and transportation costs has stretched her limited resources to the breaking point.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1192\">A Small Gift with a Big Impact<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1449\">Thanks to the generosity of SOPFCA donors, Teresa received gift cards to help cover food and gas \u2014 two essential needs that directly support her ability to continue treatment. These simple resources provide relief at a time when every bit of help matters.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1451\" data-end=\"1604\">Teresa\u2019s strength at this stage of life is inspiring.
