Rising Costs, Fixed Income
At 71, Sherri is bravely facing a breast cancer diagnosis alone. Living on a fixed income in San Diego, she’s had to manage the growing costs of treatment — including co-pays, medications, and rising gas prices — without a financial safety net. Her chemotherapy began in September and will continue through the spring.

The Weight of Getting to Treatment
With limited Medicare coverage, even routine travel to appointments has been a financial challenge. “It’s created so much stress and anxiety in my life,” Sherri shared. The burden of transportation costs threatened her ability to consistently receive the care she needs.
