Fighting for Her Future

Nancy, 45, is a single mother of two teenagers living in Calexico. Since her diagnosis, she’s been unable to work, and her only income is $129 a month. All her treatments are in San Diego, forcing her to travel long distances, stay overnight, and shoulder mounting costs for gas and food.

A Heavy Load for One Pair of Shoulders

The financial and emotional burden has been overwhelming. “I have 2 teenage children and no other income or support,” Nancy explained. “I’ve been relying on family and friends to pay for lodging and food while I stay in San Diego during treatment.”

Hope and Relief

Thanks to SOPFCA’s generous supporters, Nancy received gift cards to help cover transportation and essentials during treatment. “Receiving this assistance will keep my children and me afloat and help me to focus on my cancer treatments,” she shared.
